Currently, I hold a faculty position in VT University Libraries as the data and informatics consultant for the science. In this position, my role is to collaborate with faculty and students on the integration of computational thinking and discipline-specific computational tools into their research labs and classrooms. In addition, I consult with researchers on data analysis, data publishing, and data visualization. I work in varying capacities; from just one-hour consults on a specific question or tool to becoming an active member and collaborator on a project. My involvement can be at any stage in the project and/or course, from proposal to publishing. I also continue to pursue my own research agenda involving simulations and in silico drug discovery, targeting proteins involved in neurodegenerative disease. I am also involved in the training and mentorship of undergraduate research students in these areas.
