FINANCIAL AID
Virginia Tech awards financial aid
to qualified students through scholarships, grants, loans, and employment.
To apply for need-based aid, entering freshmen and transfer students
should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
to a federal processing agency by February 15, in time for the analysis
to be returned to the university's Financial Aid Office by March
15.
Additional information on financial
aid and scholarships may be obtained:
A Virginia Tech bulletin on financial
aid for students describes numerous scholarships, low-interest loans,
and other financial aid programs. These programs include the Pell
Grant Program, College Scholarship Assistance Program, Supplemented
Educational Opportunity Grant Program, National Direct Student Loan
Program, College Work Study Program, Guaranteed Student Loan Program,
and Merit Scholarships.
The College of Agriculture and Life
Sciences awards many scholarships to entering freshmen who are enrolled
in the College. These scholarships are awarded on a competitive
basis and are not necessarily based on financial need.
