Cell-cell communication in model systems; application of mass spectrometry to life sciences research.

The laboratory of Professor Helm is interested in understanding the biochemistry of intercellular communication. Studies underway range from microbial, to plants, to mammalian systems. These projects are performed in collaborative fashion with multiple investigators on the Virginia Tech campus and utilize mass spectrometry as an integral analysis tool.
